STAR HAWKS BOOKS 1 - 4 SET by Ron Goulart (scripts) and Gil Kane (artwork). Softbacks, Comic-Strip Preserves/Blackthorne Publishing, size approximately 7 x 10 inches, O/P. Book 1: As New, December 1985, First Edition, First Printing, 80 pages, ISBN: 0-932629-21-0, Afterword by Ron Goulart; Book 2: As New, May 1986, First Edition, First Printing, 80 pages, ISBN: 0-932629-46-6, Afterword by Ron Goulart; Book 3: As New with the back cover having half inch surface abrasions into the color caused during production at the top and bottom spine, October 1986, First Edition, First Printing, 72 pages, ISBN: 0-932629-55-5; Book 4: As New-, April 1987, First Edition, First Printing, 72 pages, ISBN: 0-932629-80-6, Last story in this book is written by Archie Goodwin. Released during the "Star Wars mania" of 1977, this series took advantage of the lack of any solid science fiction in newspaper strip form. Gil Kane drew this in a unique two-tiered format that made a number of papers refuse to carry it, thus making it a rarity in many areas. These books print two B&W strips per page, beginning with October 5, 1977 and ending with the June 3, 1979 strip, which encompasses Goulart's run on the strip. Covers are all color with Kane artwork on them and Books 1 and 3 even have strips printed on the inside back covers. The series did continue into 1981 with other skilled writers producing the stories. Sold as a complete set of 4 books. See 1-2 covers  See 3-4 covers  All 4 volumes for $65
