Lobby Cards for sale here are listed in alphabetical order by film title. All are Original Theatrical Lobby Cards, no reproductions, and are 11 x 14 inches in size, unless otherwise noted. Cards are identified by their series printing numbers of 1 through 8. Large picture formats and actors in the photos are noted. All NM- and better graded lobbies are unused. Some VF+ cards may have been unused, but they bear handling wear that automatically reduces their grade from NM. See Condition for grading definitions. To purchase anything, see the How To Order page.
For those of you unfamiliar with Lobby Cards, they are film promotional items issued the same way One-Sheets (Movie Posters) were for a film. They were typically printed in sets of 8, on heavy card stock, commonly in 11 x 14 inch size, but 8 x 10 (minis) and 14 x 17 (jumbos) inch sizes also exist. Lobby Cards were “advertisements” meant to be hung in display cases or tacked on sandwich boards in theater lobbies, hence their name. Originally, card #1 was a title card and the remaining seven cards showed scenes from the film. During the 1950s, this practice was dropped and all 8 cards carried scenes from the film. Some lobbies were designed with large picture formats that fill the entire card with a photo and a simple title printed at the bottom. Lobby Cards were produced with full color photos, black and white photos, or color toned black and white photos. By the late 1980s, with the disappearance of the single theater and the takeover of the multiplex, production of Lobby Cards has ceased for usage in the U.S. Today, they are produced in much smaller numbers for overseas distribution.
