LIFE Volume 35, #16: October 19, 1953, Fr: pages 53-56 are missing, centerfold section on the Age of Mammals is loose, moderate water damage on cover and first few pages. Highlights are articles on the Bobby Greenlease kidnapping and murder, Jackie Gleason's chorus girls (Gleason also appears in a Nescafe ad), Comic Strip Dolls showing toy dolls that are being made based on comic strip characters (including real life Ricky Jr. from "I Love Lucy"), The Age of Mammals, "Tea And Sympathy" with Deborah Kerr, and the Crimean War. If you are looking to cut out some great Fifties vintage ads, then this issue is perfect for you - my favorite is the chain saw ad drawn by Al Capp with Li'l Abner and Daisy Mae. LIFE Volume 36, #6: February 8, 1954, Fr: pages 9-10, 65-72 are missing, "Desk Copy" sticker on cover. Highlights are articles on Bob Young, René Coty, "King Richard II" on NBC with Maurice Evans, The Great Barrier Reef, Daniel and Donald Hartley, Russia, and the Zanuck's Hollywood party. If you are looking to clip some great Fifties vintage ads, then this issue is perfect for you - my favorite is the Wildroot Hair Tonic ad drawn by Al Capp with Fearless Fosdick.
